THE RECORD

I was born in Eastern Canada in 1975, the youngest of ten children.
Ours was a loving home. Some years we had more, and some years we had less, but there always seemed to be enough.
Our parents worked hard to provide for us. At different times, my mother worked outside the home, and at others she stayed home to care for the family. Both of my parents taught us that responsibility was not something you talked about. It was something you carried.
That stayed with me.
Years later, when I started Vach Cittoni, fragrance was not the original focus.
The brand began with watches.
I was drawn to what a watch represented: personal style, attention to detail, and the way a well-chosen object could become part of how someone carried themselves. Fragrance was originally introduced as an accessory to the watches.
But it did not remain an accessory for long.
The more time I spent with fragrance, the more fascinated I became. It changed on the skin, developed over time, and could leave an impression long after the wearer had left the room.
I became deeply interested in understanding it.
I wanted to know why some fragrances remained balanced while others lost their character. I wanted to understand how ingredients interacted, how a fragrance developed through each stage of wear, and what allowed it to remain memorable hours later.
Over time, the watches fell away.
Fragrance remained.
It was not the easier path. It was the harder one.
The learning curve was steep. I had to understand fragrance development, production, testing, packaging, compliance, sourcing, pricing, shipping, marketing, and the realities of building a fragrance business without the resources of an established house.
There have been mistakes. Decisions I would make differently now. Ideas that cost time and money without leading where I expected. Relationships were formed, and some were lost along the way.
Not every lesson came easily, but each one became part of the foundation.
I have never been interested in releasing something simply because it smelled good at first impression. A fragrance has to survive real wear. It has to remain balanced, recognizable, and worth returning to hours later.
Each Vach Cittoni fragrance is worn, evaluated, adjusted, and tested in real life.
Nothing is released simply because it is close.
It meets the standard, or it does not move forward.
We are still learning. We are still refining how we work, who we work with, and what we are prepared to place under the Vach Cittoni name.
What exists today is an independent fragrance house focused on deliberate development, limited production, and fragrances I am proud to stand behind.
There is no race to release more.
The goal is to keep improving, remain honest about the work, and create something stronger with every step forward.
The story is still being written, and I am genuinely excited about what comes next.
